In Quixy, an application is a tool that allows you to automate and digitize your business processes that are traditionally handled manually or through legacy systems.
Whether it’s an internal approval flow or a customer-facing operation, you can build applications in Quixy to make your processes faster, more accurate, and completely paperless — all without writing a single line of code.
Organizations across industries use Quixy applications to digitize enterprise-grade processes such as:
Each application in Quixy is built using four core components (given below) that work together to bring processes to life digitally.
Forms are where you capture and store information.
A workflow defines how your process flows from one step to another.
Business Rules help you control how your application behaves.

Access Permissions define how and where users interact with the application across the workflow.

The platform, by default stores the history of each transaction made in the application along with the data. We call this history as App data. The app data can be accessed in two different ways based on whether the user has initiated the workflow or participated in it.
When a user initiates a process or submits a new transaction, that record becomes part of their Initiated Tasks.
To view the history:
If a user did not initiate a transaction but was assigned a task or performed an action within a workflow (e.g., approval, review, or update), that record appears under Participated Tasks.

Note
By default, all data submitted through an app is stored as App Data within the platform. However, if users want to organize, analyze, or visualize that data for reports and dashboards, they can store it in Data Tables as well. To do this, the application must be linked to a Data Tables and its fields mapped appropriately using App Data Functions, and Data Table Functions.
Quick flow: Applications can instantly trigger actions such as adding a new record in another app, printing a report or label, or opening a view immediately after a transaction is submitted.

Integrations: Applications can push or pull data from third-party systems seamlessly.

Connecting Applications: Link related apps across the same or different workspaces using Triggers.

Guest Applications: It enables external users to securely interact with your application — allowing them to submit data or provide approvals without requiring a Quixy account.

Embed Applications: Embed an application on a public website or share its link with anyone — even non-Quixy users.
When someone fills out the form, the data will be saved in the connected Data Table (if mapped) or as App Data.

Comments (In-App Conversations): Users can leave comments or notes while performing a transaction within an app.
This helps team members communicate directly within the workflow and keep discussions tied to the right record.
