User Deactivation in Quixy is a lifecycle management action performed by administrators to temporarily or permanently restrict a user's ability to access the platform. Deactivation ensures that inactive, resigned, or role-shifted users no longer appear in active processes, task assignments, or approval flows. It helps maintain clean user records, secure data access, and consistent process execution.
Note
User deactivation is not the same as deletion. A deactivated user can be reactivated at any time, making it a safe and reversible action.
- Access Restrictions: A deactivated user loses all access to Quixy. They cannot log in, access workspaces, perform tasks, or participate in processes. Their permissions and role assignments remain in the system but stay inactive.
- Workflow Continuity: Before deactivation, all active responsibilities must be swapped to another user. This prevents pending tasks from getting stuck and ensures processes continue without interruptions.
- Data Preservation: All historical data—such as logs and workflow activity—remains intact after deactivation. The user becomes inactive, but their past actions stay available for audit and compliance.
- All their assigned roles are retained, and the user remains inactive.
- They cannot perform any actions mapped to those roles.
- No process stage will identify them as a valid actor.
