Use lookups to create reusable lists of values that appear as dropdown options while building applications.
To create a lookup:
- Navigate to Admin Menu → Database → Create Lookup.
2. You are redirected to the Lookups List page.
At this stage, you decide how lookup values should be stored or retrieved. Quixy supports different lookup types based on how your data is maintained. The sections below give a brief overview.
¶ 1. Types of Lookups
Applications often need different kinds of predefined values. A single static list may not always be sufficient. To handle this, Quixy provides multiple lookup options:
- Lookups: Store predefined values directly within the platform. Use this option for fixed lists such as countries, departments, or status values.
- External Lookups: Retrieve values from an external system using an API. Use this option when the data is maintained outside Quixy or changes frequently, such as product lists, vendor codes, or employee codes.
