Data Sync imports data from an external system into a Quixy data table. It calls the system’s API, matches the response to the table’s fields, and saves the records. Org Admins set it up once for a data table, and it then runs on a schedule. Data Sync supports authenticated API calls, including Basic, Token, OAuth 2, and Secret Key authentication.
Note: Data Sync is in early development. Support for more API types and data formats is coming soon. See “Supported today” below.
Many organizations keep their master and transactional data in another system, such as an HR system, an asset register, or a finance application. Data Sync lets Quixy use that data without anyone re-entering it. The external system stays the source of truth, and Quixy becomes the layer where teams work with the data.
Typical uses include:
| Operation | What it does |
|---|---|
| Add | Adds the fetched records to the table as new rows. Running the job again adds the records again, so the same data can appear more than once. |
| Update | Changes existing rows that match the conditions you define. |
| Refresh | Deletes all existing rows in the table, then loads the fetched records. Use it when the table should always mirror the external data. |
Important: Refresh removes every existing record in the table before loading the new ones. Use it only on tables that should always match the external data.
Data Sync currently supports REST APIs that return JSON. Support for SOAP, XML, and External Database is coming soon.
