A View is a configurable way to present and interact with data stored in a data source. It defines how information is displayed, organized, and consumed by users, without altering the actual data underneath. Views allow users to visualize the same data from different perspectives, depending on their needs—whether it is for analysis, tracking workflows, or performing actions on individual records.
Views act as the presentation layer of data, helping users quickly understand information and take action in the most intuitive and efficient way.
Views make it easier to:
Different views offer unique ways to visualize and interact with data; you can choose the format/type that best fits for your process or objective. Each view serves a specific purpose—whether it is analyzing data in detail or tracking progress across stages—while the underlying dataset remains unchanged. There are two types of Views in Quixy:
The List View presents data in a structured, table-like format similar to a grid report. It allows users to easily scan information, compare values, and identify patterns by applying background colors to columns. As an actionable report, it also enables users to perform tasks directly on individual records, such as printing, editing, or launching an app to continue a related workflow.
The Kanban View is designed for process visualization and workflow management. It organizes data into columns, with each column representing a stage in the process. Records appear as cards that move across the columns as they progress through the workflow, offering a clear and intuitive representation of the journey from start to finish.
