A user in Quixy is just an actor with an individual login.
A role defines responsibility. It holds all permissions for apps, reports, visualizations, and dashboards. All access in Quixy is tied to a role.
When a user is assigned to a role, the user inherits the permissions in that role. The user then participates in workflows, works with reports and visualizations, or interacts with dashboards based on the access the role provides.
Note
Quixy works in a controlled environment called Sandbox. The sandbox is split into stages, such as Dev and Live or Dev, QA, UAT, and Live. Access is stage specific. If a user receives a role in Dev, the user works in Dev with those permissions. The same role must be assigned again in QA, UAT, or Live for the user to carry out responsibilities in those stages.
