A Merged Data Source combines the records of two or more data sources into one data source. Use it when you want to see records from different data sources together in a single list.
¶ 1. What are Unions?
A Merged Data Source uses UNION ALL to combine the records. UNION ALL places the records of the selected data sources one after another and keeps duplicate records.
Note
In Quixy, we support UNION ALL instead of just UNION.
¶ 2. Configuration
- Go to Admin Menu → Database → Create Data Source.
- From the list of data source types, select Merged. This opens the configuration page.
- Provide a unique name for your Merged Data Source.
- Click Add Data Source.
- In the Add Data Sources dialog, select Quixy Native or External Database.
- Quixy Native: data sources created in Quixy.
- External Database: data sources created from a connected external database.
- Select the data sources you want to merge and click Done.
- Tick the checkbox beside each field you want to include from each data source.
- To include all fields from a data source, click Select All.
- (Optional) Click Add Data Source to add more data sources.
- (Optional) Open the Filters tab and click Add Filter to apply conditions.
- Open Preview to check the merged records.
- Click Save to create the Merged Data Source.
Note
A Merged Data Source shows a Merged tag in the Data Source List.
