Each step in a workflow defines an action, responsibility, or decision point in a process.
Step Properties allow you to configure how that step behaves, who performs it, and how long they have to complete it.
These settings determine how your workflow operates in real-time — who gets the task, what message they receive, and whether additional options such as comments, drafts, or SLAs are enabled.
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
| Step Name | The display name of the step. It helps identify what action or phase this step represents (e.g., Manager Approval, HR Review). |
| Roles | Defines who will perform the task at this step. You can assign it to Any User, a specific Role, or a Custom Actor. |
| Task Message | A short description or message that appears in the user’s task list. It helps the assigned user understand what action is required. |
| Task Deadline (in Hours) | Specifies the maximum time (in hours) allowed for completing the task. Helps track workflow deadlines and escalation rules. |
| Choose Assignee Manually | When enabled, allows the actor to manually select the next assignee for this step. Useful when the next person varies case-by-case. |
| Enable Save as Draft | Allows the user to save their input without submitting it. This is helpful when the form requires additional information before final submission. |
| Enable Step Action Confirmation | Prompts the user for confirmation before performing the step action. It prevents accidental task submissions. |
| Comments | Enables the Comments section for collaboration and notes. You can also mark it as Read Only if you don’t want edits. |
| Task SLAs | Defines how the task’s time tracking works. You can choose between: - Business Hours → Time counts only during working hours. - 24/7 → Time runs continuously, regardless of business hours. |
