The Label Printing feature in Quixy enables users to generate and print professional labels seamlessly ideal for warehouse management, event check-ins, logistics, and more. It ensures accuracy, reduces errors, and helps streamline operations.
Before you begin configuring and using the label printing feature, ensure the following:
A Text Box Field must be present in the application to capture the printer's name.
A Zebra Printer must be connected to your device via Bluetooth or USB.
Why is Label Printing Important?
Imagine you’re managing a large-scale event with hundreds of attendees. People are checking in, receiving badges, and collecting materials. But then, things start to break down—some badges are missing, tickets are handwritten and difficult to read, and the printer hasn’t been set up properly. The line grows, users experience delays, and the entire process slows down.
Here’s how Label Printing improves the experience:
Each attendee’s badge is printed automatically during check-in.
The system instantly generates clear, professional labels, reducing wait times.
Everything stays organized, and there’s no need for last-minute fixes.
That’s why an efficient label printing system is essential—it ensures accuracy, minimizes delays, and keeps operations running smoothly across events, logistics, and warehouse environments.
Imagine you're managing a warehouse where hundreds of products are received and dispatched daily. Without proper labeling, items can easily be misplaced—leading to confusion, inefficiency, and even financial loss.
Take, for example, an application called Label Printing System, designed to streamline this entire process.
This application integrates label printing directly into your workflow to ensure consistent and accurate tagging.
Enter item details: Provide values such as Item Code, Item Name, and Quantity.
Select the printer: Choose the appropriate printer from the available list to ensure correct label routing.
Print the label: Click the Print Label button to generate and print a neatly formatted label instantly.
By using this streamlined setup, every product is labeled accurately minimizing errors, preventing misplacement, and improving overall operational efficiency.
Open the application where label printing is required.
Navigate to the Events tab.
Click on Quick Flows to add actions.
Click on the + Add button.
Enter a name for the event.
Select the Workflow Step and Action.
Choose Print Label/Receipt as the Quick Flow type.
Click Next to proceed to the Conditions tab.
In the Conditions tab, define when this Quick Flow should be triggered. By default, it is set to trigger unconditionally.
Select the printer from the select printer dropdown.
Click Configure to open the Configure Quick Flow pop-up.
Enter the ZPL code that instructs the Zebra Printer to print the label with the provided data.
Click Save to complete the configuration.
What is ZPL?
ZPL (Zebra Programming Language) is a command-based language used to instruct Zebra printers on how to format and print labels. It defines elements such as layout, fonts, barcodes, and positioning.
Example ZPL Code:
SIZE 72 mm
TEXT 41,54,"0",0,12,12,"Dispatch Note"
PRINT 1,1
What each line does:
SIZE 72 mm → Sets the width of the label.
TEXT 41,54,"0",0,12,12,"Dispatch Note" → Adds the label text at a specific position and style.
PRINT 1,1 → Sends the command to print one label.
Note:
The options available in the Select Printer dropdown are based on the text box fields in the application.
To capture the printer’s name, you must have a text box field named "Printer Name" in your form. This field is selected from the dropdown during configuration.
Zebra Printers are commonly used in retail, logistics, and warehouse environments due to their compact size and high-speed label printing.
Zebra Programming Language (ZPL) serves as the command language for all ZPL-compatible printers. This command-based language provides printers with instructions to create the images printed on labels.

With label printing configured, you can start using it seamlessly across mobile and web platforms:
For the Quixy Mobile App:
Connect your Zebra printer to your mobile device via Bluetooth.
Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings and note the printer’s name.
Enter this name exactly in the Printer Name field while adding a record in the app.
During configuration, the system automatically maps the printer's name from this field.
Once the record is submitted, the printer is triggered automatically to print the label.
For the Quixy Web App:
If using Bluetooth: Follow the same steps as on the mobile app.
If using USB:
Install JS Print Manager to detect connected printers.
Retrieve the printer's name and enter it in the Printer Name field during form submission.
The printer will be triggered automatically based on the configuration.
Automated label printing in Quixy ensures consistent, high-quality output with minimal effort. Whether used for events, warehouse operations, or logistics, it eliminates manual errors, saves time, and enhances operational efficiency.
