Quick Flows


Quick Flows in apps has 5 options:

  1. Print Report: You can configure this option, if you want to generate and print a report immediately after you submit a record in the app.
  2. Print App Report: You can configure this option, if you want to print a report in app format along with data immediately after you submit a record in the app. It is like taking a screenshot of the application along with the data you entered, as shown below.


 

3. Open App Add Record: You can configure this option, if you want to open another app in add record mode immediately after submitting a record in the current app. Here, you can share data from the first app to the second app.

4. Open App as Report: You can configure this option, if you want to open another app in Read-only mode immediately after submitting a record in the current app. Here, you can share data from the first app to the second app.

5. Automatic Print (Label Printing): You can configure this option to print a label, a label is a small piece of paper attached to an object and giving information about it. Learn more about Label Printing.

You can even apply conditions (Add Rules) and diversify the capabilities of Quickflow types.

Configure Print Report

  • Go to app view page, click 3-dot menu and select Quick Flows.


  • You will land on the Quick Flows list page.


  • Click Add.
  • You will land on Quick flows configuration page.


  • Select the Print Report from the Quick Flow Type drop-down.
  • Give a Name to the Quick Flow.
  • Select an option form the Open In drop-down according to which the print report panel will open on the screen.
  • Select the Work Flow Step and Work Flow Step Action on which you want to trigger the quick flow.
  • Select a Report from the To Report drop-down.
CAUTION

When you are selecting a report from the To Report drop-down, you need to be careful of couple of things:

  1. To send data from the app to the report, you must select a report whose fields match those in the app.
  2. To store the data, you'll need to have built a data table and then generated a number of reports from it. Selecting those reports is preferable.
  • Click Create Mapping, and map the elements in the report to the elements in the application.


  • Click Save.
  • The Quick Flow will be saved and every time you submit a record in the app, you will be able to print the report with the data that you have entered.

Configure Print App Report

  • Go to app view page, click 3-dot menu and select Quick Flows.


  • You will land on the Quick Flows list page.


  • Click Add.
  • You will land on Quick flows add page.


  • Select the Print App Report from the Quick Flow Type drop-down.
  • Give a Name to the Quick Flow.
  • Select an option form the Open In drop-down according to which the print report panel will open on the screen.
  • Select the Work Flow Step and Work Flow Step Action on which you want to trigger the quick flow.
  • Check the Custom Print Permissions checkbox if you want to show or hide any sections in the application while printing it. You can drill down to element level which you want to show in the report.


  • Click Save.
  • Whenever you submit a record in the application you will get an option to print the app form along with the data that you have entered.

Configure Open App Add Record

  • Go to app view page, click 3-dot menu and select Quick Flows.


  • You will land on the Quick Flows list page.


  • Click Add.
  • You will land on Quick flows add page.


  • Select Open App Add Record from the Quick Flow Type drop-down.
  • Give a Name to the Quick Flow.
  • Select an option form the Open In drop-down according to which the app will open on the screen.
  • Select the Work Flow Step and Work Flow Step Action on which you want to trigger the quick flow.
  • Select a Workspace from the To Workspace drop-down in which your destination app is present that you want to collaborate with the current app.
  • To App drop-down will display on the screen, select the app which you want to collaborate with the current app.
  • Click Create Mapping, map the elements in the current app to the elements present in the destination app which you are collaborating.


  • Click Save.
  • Now, whenever you do a transaction in the current application, the destination application will open in add record mode.

Configure Open App as Report

  • Go to app view page, click 3-dot menu and select Quick Flows.


  • You will land on the Quick Flows list page.


  • Click Add.
  • You will land on Quick flows add page.


  • Select Open App as Report from the Quick Flow Type drop-down.
  • Give a Name to the Quick Flow.
  • Select an option form the Open In drop-down according to which the app will open on the screen.
  • Select the Work Flow Step and Work Flow Step Action on which you want to trigger the quick flow.
  • Select a Workspace from the To Workspace drop-down in which your destination app is present that you want to collaborate with the current app.
  • To App drop-down will display on the screen, select the app which you want to collaborate with the current app.
  • Click Create Mapping, map the elements in the current app to the elements present in the destination app that you are collaborating.

  • Click Save.
  • Now, whenever you make a transaction in the current application, the destination application will open in read-only mode just to see the data which is passed from the current application to the destination app.
